Frontenis is one of the most popular of Basque Pelota sports. It was developed in Mexico early in the 20th Century, but is universally recognized as a Basque Pelota Sport and is very popular in the Basque Country as well as France, Spain, Mexico, and Argentina, among other countries. It is basically 3 wall tennis played on a 30x10 meter court with a very hard rubber ball. The rallies are long because the players are very athletic and mobile.

Only the broadcasters, LaLiga4Sports had that team listed as Ruiz-Ibanez. Ruiz-Ibanez lost to Aranez-Gonzalez in the semmi-finals, so while it is possible that they replaced A-G for some reason ,the preponderance of sources says they did not.

The players:
Masters
Ospital; Guichandut; L. Lambert; Ducassou
This is an excellent, annual three week tournament that features some of the best professionals (3 are in the top 6 of the Esku Pilota rankings as of July 29, 2019--Ducassou, and Ospital, are #1 and 3 respectively). The amateurs in the Open Tournament (see below) are among the best in Main Nue. Unfortunately this tournament gets very little press, but what it does have, which more than makes up for that, is, for the first time, complete video coverage. The Trinquet appears to be narrower than a normal one, and perhaps a bit shorter, but the players make the tournament no matter what the surface, and this one was excellent. featuring one terrifically competitive match in each category. And you won't see a much better match anywhere or any time than the Masters final was. Note. There is no scoreboard to watch in any of these matches, but the score is called out on almost each point.

After his magnificent performance in the 2nd semi-final (see below), Ezkurdia had a strangely quiet match in the final. His offense was greatly missed as Bengoetxea VI, who outscored him by 8 points, was the story in this upset victory. All other statistics in the match were almost equal. A 13-2 run in mid match, which included one 5 and two 4 point runs, sealed the championship.

An excellent performance by Bengoetxea VI led his team to this win, but not without a battle. A 5 point run by U-A put the outcome in doubt, until it was met with an identical run by the winners to end the match.
