Cesta Punta Pro Tour Summer League Espoir ("Hopefuls"--Group B) Tournaments
These Tournaments will be played simultaneously (or close) to the major Iparralde Tournaments.
They began with a Play in Tournament to fill the last front and back spot on the Group B Roster. The Tournament was played at Biarritz (1-Frontons.net) (2--City--Wikipedia) from June 22--June 29. It involved 4 teams, 2 semi-finals and a Final.
Tournament Points System (Points are allocated to the individual fronts and backs). The 4 top fronts and backs (#1-#1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4) will meet in a SLAM Tournament at the end of August. Points are allocated on a match by match basis. Any ties in points will be broken by point differential. There are no bonus points allocated for winning an individual Master Tournament.

Note: As of July 7, all Biarritz matches will be streamed and available live or on demand from Gant d'Or Cesta Punta Facebook Espoir matches begin at 8:00 PM (20:00) local time ON MONDAYS AND WEDNESDAYS. Use a time converter for your time. Note also that the Gant d'Or (Group A) competition (see above for link) match takes place after the end of the Espoir match, at 9:30 PM. Saint Jean-de-Luz Espoir matches are not being streamed, as far as I know. Pau Espoir matches were streamed beginning July 29. The stream is available at Section Paloise Pelote Facebook

Notable: This match, which pitted the #1 Front--#1 Back v the #2 Front--#2 Back of the Regular Season, the #1 team left no doubt as to who was #1. But not without a fight, for one set. They did not take the lead in the 1st set until 14-13, after trailing by a as many as 4 points (6-10). That struggle took the fight out of U-O, as they were only able to score 2 points in the 2nd set, both gifted by their opponents. Gonzalez put the match out of reach with 6 winners out of 9 points that took his team from 4-0 to 11-2.
