The Federation Francaise de Pelota Basque (FFPB) is the primary organizer of BP in Iparralde (North Basque Country--AKA France). As such one of its main responsibilities is to set up competitions in the various modalities. Chief among these compeititions are the Championnat de France in those modalities. On April 10, at Biarritz Athletic Club (1--frontons.net)(2--City--Wikipedia), the Cesta Punta CdF Finals were held in different playing groups: National B; Junior, Cadet, and Minime. In addition another competition, the Challenge National Senior competition, also held its Final there. Biarritz Athletic Club Facebook provided full match video for 4 of the 5 matches, all but the Minime match. The CdF competitions were the culmination of competitions that began on March 13 (National B) and March 20 (all the others). I will present the complete National B competition at the bottom of the page, below the Final match information. For the other competitions, simply follow this trail
For Competition chose "Championnat de France 2021/2022 or Challenge National 2021/2022. Under either of these, leave all defaults alone except for "Specialite". Under "Specialite" choose "Fronton Mur a Gauche--Cesta Punta". Then click on "Voir les Resultats". All results are provided. Players are listed under the Clubs they play for.
Of all the matches played the best by far was the National B Final. It featured Cosme Aguirre (26 years old) and Nicolas Toucoullet (30)
Their opponents were Thomas Urrutia (20) and Mikel Mancisidor (22) (the only Hegoalde--South Basque--Spain player in the final--he came in as a late replacement for Gorka Sorozabal, who was playing in the Dania Battle at the Palace competition).

The match was great from a competition standpoint, not quite so great aesthetically. There were plenty of errors but also plenty of great plays. It was, as were all of these matches, a traditional 35 point partido. I am presenting a point by point deconstruction because, unfortunately, the commentary on this match was quite lax about mentioning the score, and there was no visual scoreboard. Because the match had a great rhythm to it, I decided to keep score point by point, so that you can follow along. The other three matches had no such drama, but I will link to them for those who are interested. Note: in one of them you will have to keep score yourself, in one of them, the announcers call the score out in French, and one of them is a partial match video with minimal commentary.
Note that the National A competition, the top tier of Ippararlde puntistas, has been moved to a later date. When that competition occurs, I will cover it.
